ROLE OF SHASTRI JI IN THE VICTORY OF 1965 - INDIA PAKISTAN WAR



SHRI LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI ji was one of the Great , Self Confidence, Strong and Strict Decision Maker  PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA


BIOGRAPHY :-

Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji was born on 2nd October in 1904 

His birth place was  Varanasi City of Uttar Pradesh state, in Ram nagar. After his father's death, Shastri ji's Mother shifted with Family in Mughalsarai a small railway town.

His father SHARDA PRASAD SHRIVASTAV was a School Teacher.

Shastriji Mother name was RAMDULARI DEVI.
 
Shastri ji studied in Harishchandra high school.

Shastriji completed his college education from Kashi Vidyapeeth in 1926.

Shastri ji's  wife was Laita Devi .They both married in 16th May 1928.

Shastri ji was having 4 sons and 
2 Daughters .

4 son: -  Anil Shastri , Sunil Shastri, Hari Krishna Shastri, Ashok Shastri.

2 Daughters :- Kusum Shastri, Suman Shastri.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second and the first Legend Prime Minister Of India.

On 1965, Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji gave the slogan "JAI JAWAN JAI KISAN" in Delhi's Ramlila Ground in Delhi . 
This is because after becoming the Prime Minister Of India , the India was attacked by the Pakistan and at the same time there was a Scarcity of food grains in India.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji served in various ministries in Indian National Congress (Political party), and after the death Of first Prime Minister of India i.e. Jawaharlal Nehru, he became the second and first legend PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA.

He served in  Railway and Transport as a Minister.
He also served  as the Minister in Commerce and Industry as well as Home affairs.





1965 INDIA PAKISTAN WAR :-

After becoming the Prime Minister Of India , Lal Bahadur Shastri played a great role to give strict reply to Pakistani forces through Indian forces . Shastri Ji ordered to the Indian Army to cross international Borders and target Sialkot and Lahore city ,when there was a clashed with Pakistani forces , in Jammu and Kashmir.




BATTLE OF HAJI PIR :-

On January 1965 Pakistan claimed 50% of area of Ran of Kutch belogs to Pakistan.


India retaliated, many encounters took place between the two countries.  Pakistan lost badly in this encounter.  Pakistan launched Operation Gibraltar in retaliation.

On August 1965, Pakistan's arm- locked terrorist entered the valley of Kasmir , in order to spread terror in the state of Kashmir and Capture Kashmir by joining the people of Kashmir. 

Information about this incident was reported to the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri took the responsibility for the country's difficult condition in such a delicate period  and in all these conditions, the Indian Forces were going through change in the development of Arms and Ammunitions after the war with China in 1962 and the country was facing severe economic crisis.

On the other hand Pakistan got very advanced weapons from America. But this was a big mistake of Pakistan, he forgotted that the real power of a country is in the morale of its Soldiers, not in its weapons.


India did not take this attack of Pakistan lightly under the leadership of Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastriji.


Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri had made it clear in one of his statements at the political rally that " no one can suppress our country at the tip of the sword or from the fear of atomic bomb and the whole power will be retaliated".

Soon a plan was made to thwart Operation Gibraltar under the leadership of Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji.

Operation Gibraltar was the area HAJI PEER PASS which comes under P.O.K Which comes between uri and pucnh sector.
On 25th August operation Bakshi was started to take control of Haji Pir Pass. 

The soldiers of the One Para led a fierce attack on the enemy under the leadership of Major Ranjit Singh Dayal and Successfully captured the Haji Pir Path and waved the Tricolor Flag on the Haji Pir Point.

Due to such brave decisions in the battle of Haji Pir Pass Major Ranjeet Singh Dayal was conferred with Mahaveer Chakra.  

After capturing Haji Pir Pass operation Gibraltar was failed by enemies.

Seeing increasing attacks on him, Pakistan started targeting Punjab along with Kashmir, but this time also he was given tuff reply by Indian Forces and Pakistan's strategy failed.

On September 6, the official announcement of the start of this war was made by India.  The war ended on 23rd September 1965.

In response to Pakistan's attack in Jammu, India launched a massive attack on the Uri Punjab border and After the victory in Lahore Indian Forces hoisted the tricolor flag at Barki Police Station in Lahore.





BATTLE OF ASAL UTTAR : -


Pakistan balked by India's retaliation and attacked Punjab's Khemkaran.


Indian Infantry and 3 Kaveri tanks surrounded Pakistani tanks in a circle and destroyed them with heavy Casualties.

Abdul Hamid had played an important role in this war. Abdul Hameed had destroyed many Pakistani tanks with just one recoilles gun and martyred while fighting for the nation to his last breath. Later Abdul Hameed was  awarded with the Param Vir Chakra


In this battle around 100 Pakistani Tanks were destroyed.



The Indo-Pak war of 1965 was the second-largest war fought through tanks since World War II.  In this war, the soldiers of India had driven Pakistan so badly that the soldiers of Pakistan had left 20 tanks in good condition and the Indian army had reached just outside Lahore.
